This course is for students wanting to develop their skills in music and work towards a career in the music industry.

Students will study a range of practical and theoretical units such as recording, performance, music, theory, pop music, history and music business.

Assessment is 100% coursework and is covered in a range of assignments set throughout the year covering practical and theoretical work.

Students are expected to bring their own instrument to practical classes stationery and headphones for technical classes.

You gain an overview of the industry and a recognised qualification.

Applicants for a Level 2 programme will normally have:

- GCSEs to include English and Maths at Grade D or above or Level 1 Functional Skills qualifications
- The willingness to study for an additional qualification in English and/or Maths

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

The course can lead on to employment using the broad range a skills developed on the course or onto further study such as the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music.
