Description

This course is for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Our highly experienced staff help students develop life skills so they can work towards living as independently as possible.

Students will learn through a mixture of small groups specialist teaching and individual support. Students can gain practical skills through a range of sessions including: cookery, gardening and music. In addition students will develop their literacy numeracy and ICT skills. The course improves students’ self-esteem and confidence to help them progress on to supported living/employment or further education.

Students will learn through a mixture of small groups specialist teaching and individual support. Students can gain practical skills through a range of sessions including: cookery, gardening and music. In addition students will develop their literacy numeracy and ICT skills. The course improves students’ self-esteem and confidence to help them progress on to supported living/employment or further education.

This course offers students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities a specialist curriculum and support. Students learn a range of practical and functional skills to help with their confidence self-esteem and independence. Our supportive and experienced staff will help prepare students for the responsibilities of adult life.

Students will learn through a range of practical sessions including: speaking and listening, IT, music, cookery, gardening, PSD, numeracy, drama, art and craft. Through the group work students will gain confidence and make new friends.Throughout the two-year course students will have a tailored programme and receive individual support from staff to help with their personal and social development.

Learning will be through a combination of group work and individual support. You will be taught basic English Maths and ICT within a group and also practical and personal skills through both tutorials and group work.

Students will improve their personal and social skills and the course can help them take their next steps into education or supported work/living.

No qualifications are required for this course. All candidates will be assessed on an individual basis.

This course allows students to either move on to supported employment/living or progress on to a third year of study.
