About This Course:This course is designed for those who want a career in hairdressing. Level 5 will enable you to develop and master all of the basic skills that are required for the successful hairdresser. Work experience is an essential part of the course and you will be required to secure a work placement.
During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities including the chance to participate in competitions, presentations and demonstrations.
What You Need:- You should have experience in or knowledge of the hairdressing industry or 2 Standard Grades Level 1-4.

- Entry will be by successful interview
- Applicants must be 16 years of age at start of course

What You Study:The subjects you'll study include:- Shampoo, Condition and Scalp Massage; Blow Drying Techniques; Setting and Winding Techniques for Hair; Ladies Hairdressing: Basic Cutting Categories; Mix, Apply and Remove Hair Colour; Selling Skills and Applying Practical Skills.
After The Course:Career
Employment as junior hairdresser.
Continuing Study
On successful completion of the course you can apply for SCQF Ladies Hairdressing Level 6.
How Long:One year, starting in August.
