You will cover all aspects of specialist support including planning, delivering, and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher, bilingual and special needs support, and personal development and re?ective practice. You will develop you knowledge about schools as organisations, including what types of schools there are, about policies and procedures and the wider environment in which they operate. You will also develop your communication skills, communicating and building professional relationships with both children and young people and adults. You will have the option to study areas that are of a particular interest to you or will benefit you in your career, such as supporting literacy and numeracy, supporting bilingual learners and supporting learners with particular specialist needs. Gaining work experience in a childcare setting will form a key part of your learning, so you will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement during the course.Key Areas
