Description
This two year course is for people who would like a successful career as a musician. You will develop your practical music skills and performance skills and techniques. You will undertake a major music project and develop your aural perception skills. You will also learn about song writing and music composition for different uses, recording and producing music, and how music fits in to our society today.

The course is very practical, and you will have the opportunity to develop your performance techniques, perform solo and in groups, and learn to play a wide range of different musical styles. Taught by tutors who are passionate about music and have worked in music and as performers, you will get first hand advice and information about working in the music industry and what career options are available to you. We have regular visits from industry experts and artists, including a recent visit from The Ting Tings who also invited a student to perform on stage with them at their sell out concert. We have an impressive 350 seat auditorium that is used for performances and as a practice area, and you will have the opportunity to perform at college and external events.

What next

You could progress onto the HND in Popular Music Practice or HND in Music at the college, or higher education course at a university in a related subject. You could also find work in the music industry.

Five GCSE's C or above including english or equivalent level 2 qualification
