What will I Study? On completing the Award in Education &
Training course, it is anticipated that candidates will be familiar
with basic theory and practice relating to the following: • Roles,
responsibilities and boundaries of the practitioner in the Life
Long Learning Sector • The nature of learning and learners and the
range of individual learning needs • The need for reflection within
learning and its function for learners and learning • The
importance of the learning plan and the guidelines for its
implementation • The purpose of micro teaching and its associated
feedback • The nature of assessment and its role within learning •
The key features of Professional Development How will I be Taught?
It is a classroom based programme incorporating a range of teaching
methods, group activities, discussion, tutor led presentations. The
focus of the sessions is on sharing student experience of education
and their roles. How will I be Assessed? Both External and Internal
Assessment feature in this qualification. External Assessment:
Candidates are required to keep a Professional Development Journal
(P.D.J.) which is assessed by examiners appointed by the awarding
body. Internal Assessment is practical and takes place during the
