This is a part time in-service programme aimed at educators working as full teachers within the lifelong learning sector (e.g. FE, Adult education). The qualification will help you work towards achieving Qualified Teacher, Learning & Skills (QTLS) status.

Course content

This is a modular programme with wide coverage of key teaching and learning practices and issues. There is a strong emphasis on professional development throughout the two years of the course.

Entry Requirements

A qualification at Level 3 or above in the subject you wish to teach English Language/Literacy at GCSE/Level 2 (or equivalent) A minimum of 75 hours per year teaching hours A satisfactory CRB check will be required prior to enrolment

Progression

Learners on the certificate route can top-up their studies to degree level. Those following the professional graduate route may wish to progress to masters level study.
