and practical floristry skills including Art and Design-The colour
wheel and harmonies, the dates relevant to floristry and the
explanation of colour temperature.The elements and principles.
Conditioning unit-The botanical names for cut flowers and foliages.
How to unpack, check, condition, price your stock. Plant unit-Basic
plant science relevant to floristry. Botanical names for flowering
and foliage plants. Hand tied unit- A range of hand tieds suitable
for all occasions.Wedding unit-A start into the specialist wedding
topic covering a foundation into the basic designs.Funeral
unit-Designs suitable for funerals and sympathy designs in both
modern and traditional styles.Flower arrangement unit- A selection
of arrangements in different mediums to suit all tastes. Display
unit- In-store and window display work. Function decorating
unit-How to decorate a function. Working effectively in the
industry. You will learn all the methods and techniques required to
produce the designs. How will I be Taught? You will be taught in a
classroom environment. The lessons will be structured to include
lots of demonstrations, practical workshops with constructive
feedback. You will be inspired and encouraged to develop your
creative skills. You will also have some theory lessons which will
involve group/paired work with activities. How will I be Assessed?
You will be assessed for practical designs once you are ready,
these will be under timed constraints relevant to industry. You
will also produce a portfolio of coursework which will be graded
with a pass, merit or distinction. Online multiple choice exam
based on unit 201 only, 15 questions. What our students say? Dee
