To study on the L3 Extended Diploma you must first complete the
90-Credit Diploma. This course allows you to further improve your
animal experience and confidence through practical work with our
range of reptiles, mammals, birds and paddock animals in our new
Animal Centre facilities. It also helps to develop your academic
skills in order to progress to university or into the workplace.

enrichment activities including trips and guest speakers What will
I Study? You will cover a variety of core subjects including Zoo
Animals, Breeding and Genetics, Feeding and Exotic Animals. You
will also get to choose some subjects from options such as Animal
Nursing, Aquatics and Horse Husbandry. You will work in the Animal
Centre and learn about the day to day care of a wide variety of
species. How will I be Taught? You will be taught in both classroom
sessions and through practical work in the Animal Centre and around
the estate. You will also study and undertake practical activities
on our working farm and at our equine yard. How will I be Assessed?
All assessment is coursework, it can be in the form of practical
assessments, reports, in class tests, poster or presentations. What
our students say? The students enjoy the variety of subjects,
especially the opportunity to choose some modules, and working with
a wide range of animals.
