Intermediate Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Storage Level 2

Summary:

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications. The Apprenticeship in Warehousing & StorageLevel 2 is built up of a framework consisting of: EDI Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage Principles (QCF), OCR Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage, Functional Skills in English Level 1 and Mathematics Level 1 or Key Skills in Communication Level 1 and Application of Number Level 1.

Course Code: E0112 Minimum Age: 16 Course Length: Approximately 12 - 14 months Entry Requirements:

Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16, whether they have just left school or have been working for years. Applicants need to be; legally permitted to work in the EU, employed in a relevant job role and not taking part in full-time education. Apprentices who took their GCSE’s more than five years ago and did not gain a C grade or above will need to take a literacy and numeracy test.

Core Skills:

This course develops the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective employee within the warehousing & storage sector. It is recommended for employees who work in warehousing and storage, transport or freight forwarding and who want to; further their career and gain a qualification through a flexible combination of training and assessment in the workplace.

In this course learning is based around how a variety of warehousing & storage services function; the different methods used by organisations to receive and store goods and materials, to process orders and dispatch goods, deliver effective customer service, to understand health, safety, security and legislation and the wide variety of opportunities and career pathways in the this sector.

Assessment:

Training and assessments are mainly delivered in the workplace though some of the content can be delivered in college. Assessment is via a variety of methods, including case studies, assignments, practical assessments and projects.

Career Progression:

Career or academic progression may include continuation, development or promotion at work or within the retail sector, progression onto an Advanced Apprenticeship or higher education.

This Apprenticeship is ideal for developing skills and knowledge whilst working within the fast-paced world of warehousing & storage. This qualification offers the unique opportunity to earn and learn in this sector.

Real work experience, which is personalised to each learners’s aspirations and interests, is integrated into the programme.

The Apprenticeship in Warehousing & StorageLevel 2 is built up of a framework consisting of: EDI Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage Principles (QCF), City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage, Functional Skills in English Level 1 and Mathematics Level 1 or Key Skills in Communication Level 1 and Application of Number Level 1. There is a choice of units to meet the role and responsibilities and your Assessor will help determine the appropriate combination.

Training and assessments are delivered in the workplace, except some of the content, which may be undertaken in college.

Costs:

Training on the Apprenticeships programme is currently funded for apprentices aged 16 - 18 years at the time of enrolment. An employer contribution is required for those aged either 19+ or who have a level 4 or higher qualification.
