On the apprenticeship you cover the following is a framework of
qualifications consisting of the following:
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Logistics Operations Apprenticeship
- Functional Skills in English Level 1
- Maths Level 1
- ICT Level 1
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
The Level 2 Certificate in Logistics Operations is a combined
qualification that forms both the competence and knowledge elements
of the apprenticeship.
All aspects of training are completed in college on day release and
in the workplace, or solely in the work place (dependant on the
employer’s needs). An assessor will regularly visit you in the
workplace to gather work-based evidence.
Apprenticeships let you benefit from real-life work experience
which you will get day-to-day from your job. This experience is
supported by theoretical knowledge gained at college in both
classroom and workshop based sessions/assessments.
For the NVQ you will build up a portfolio, which is a collection of
examples or evidence of your work that demonstrates your skills and
ability, including a work diary, photos, statements from your
employer and colleagues and examples of completed tasks.
Assessment consists of practical tasks, observations, oral
questioning, written questions, assignments and projects. The
functional skills are assessed through written tests.
You gain recognised qualifications and valuable industry experience, making you more employable.
Upon application you will be invited in for an interview and an initial assessment to make sure that the course is right for you. There are no other restrictions to becoming an apprentice except that you need to be over the age of 16 and to have been settled in the UK for at least the past three years.
