The course requires continual assessment of college based
assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet
the requirements of the awarding body.
Additionay City & Guilds and externally set and marked examinations will be scheduled at key stages throughout the course.

Completion of Level 1 programme.
Where to next
An increasing number of employers in the Frication and Welding
industry now see the acquisition of relevant National Vocational
Qualifications (NVQs), Essential Skills, City and Guilds
certificates as an essential feature of their skills training
programmes.
Opportunities may exist to gain trainee employment in any of the following trade disciplines: Sheet Metal Fabrication and Welding
Following a successful first year of study, progression to the
level 2 Programme in Fabrication and Welding or as an employed
Foundation Apprentice
Learners who gain employment may also, depending on conditions offered by their employers, have the opportunity to progress to Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding in the future.
