Teaching and assessment
You will attend workshops that provide you with the underpinning knowledge that will aid you in the completion of a portfolio. An assessor will be assigned to you and they will come out to your place of work and assess you in practice. Your personal assessor will assess your practice in your work place. You will produce a wide range of evidence to support your practice, which will be presented in a portfolio. Each unit is individually assessed by experienced assessors and internally verified by qualified verifiers.
The college workshops support the skills practiced in the place of work, and it is expected that the workplace mentor and college tutor, together, help the learner to develop as a child care practitioner.
Entry requirements

You must be in paid employment for a minimum of 16 hours a week in a supervisory role within a childcare environment and have a written contract of employment to confirm this.
