Description

Introduction to dentistry. For students who require basic knowledge and understanding of a range of dental clinical practices and laboratory techniques. The scientific basis of oral health is examined in order to provide students with skills relating to the giving of patient information and advice.

Course content

Learners are required to complete six units (includes one optional unit):

  • Dental anatomy
  • Oral health
  • Cross infection control
  • Clinical procedures
  • Information & communication technology
  • Customer contact – optional unit
  • Laboratory procedures – optional unit
