Summary:
NVQs are nationally recognised awards based on the National Occupational Standards. The principle behind an NVQ is one of equal opportunity and open access. The qualifications are open to all people who are working in the occupational area or who are in appropriate work placements. The level 3 qualification is designed for workers delivering chair-side practice and support, often without direct supervision; working on their own or with some supervisory or developmental responsibility.

Assessment:You will be allocated a number of hours of assessment time and will need to work within this framework in order to maximise support. NVQ assessors will observe your achievements and skills in your workplace and you will prepare a portfolio of evidence for assessment. The NVQ is supported by a Technical Certificate which is assessed by an external examination.
