The course is a full-time Level 2 programme of study and students will be required to spend at least 10 hours of independent study time outside of the classroom teaching.
Entry Requirements
Adults with experience outside of formal education. Entry to the course is through an initial assessment to determine aptitude in Numeracy and Literacy; plus an individual interview with a member of the specialist team to establish that students will benefit and succeed on the course.
Delivery & Assessment methods
As a guideline most modules are assessed by coursework and, in the case of Numeracy and Literacy, by controlled assessment. Coursework may involve essays, presentations, discussions and/or portfolios of evidence. This is a full time programme and learners should be aware that classes can be at any time between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be expected to attend for 15 hours per week for the main programme.
Progression
The course can lead to further study such as Access to Higher Education Diploma (including Health, Social Science, Mental Health pathways) Apprenticeships and work based Diplomas. Please Note: If you wish to progress to Access Level 3 courses you will need to meet the entry criteria and pass the initial assessment & interview used for selection purposes.
