The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care consists of 7
mandatory units plus 6 specialist units. Work experience and
functional skills is an integral part of the course. Core Units –
must be taken include: * Human Lifespan Development * Health and
Social Care Values * Effective Communication * Equality and
Diversity * Individual Rights * Healthy Living * Carry out a
research project Specialist units- six units will be chosen by the
tutors prior to course start from the following units: * Social
influences on Health and Wellbeing * Promoting Health and Wellbeing
* Human Body Systems and Care of disorders * Services in Health and
Social Care * The impact of Nutrition on Health and Wellbeing *
Skills and qualities to work in health and social care How will I
be Taught? Tutors have a variety of vocational qualifications and
experience and so are able to provide “real” life links to theory
learned. Lessons will include a range of activities for individual
and group work. A number of projects will be undertaken, guest
speakers and external visits will be arranged to support your
learning. How will I be Assessed? The majority of the course will
be assessed through production of a final written assignment for
each unit. Two units are assessed through externally moderated
