The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering is a 60-credit and 360 -guided-learning-hour (GLH) qualification that consists of two mandatory units plus four optional units that provide for a combined total of 60 credits. Entry Requirements

You will normally need to have at least one or a combination of the following: • BTEC First Diploma in a related subject (minimum Merit grade) plus GCSE’s in Maths and English • At least 4 GCSEs at grades A – C including Mathematics, Science, English • Any other relevant or equivalent qualification • Good school report or ROA

Delivery & Assessment methods

All units are assessed and graded internally and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. There are no external examinations

Progression

Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are valued by employers and universities. Students who complete the Subsidiary diploma can progress to a BTEC Extended Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. After that they can study for a degree in many engineering disciplines, apply for apprenticeships or go into careers as technicians in the engineering industry
