A Level French

This subject is based on the study of topics related to modern French culture and society. Learners will deepen their understanding of written and spoken French and will develop their ability to communicate effectively in the language.

Course content

Topic-based conversation; General conversation; Reading, writing and listening tasks.

• Topics include: Leisure and Lifestyles, including travel and tourism, sport, hobbies, entertainment, customs, traditions, healthy living – health and nutrition, diet and exercise
• The Individual and Society, including relationships and responsibilities, gender issues, youth culture (values, peer groups, fashions and trends etc.), education, vocational training and future careers.

Progression

This subject is ideal preparation for progression to university to read French, arts and humanities subjects and law.
