- Maintaining safe and effective working practices
- Assisting with the cleaning the stables and yard
- Assisting with putting on, taking off and cleaning the equipment
At this level we do not expect or allow students to ride the horses at Bicton.
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional
qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.
The teaching and assessment of these subjects is usually embedded in the practical subjects covered.
A small amount of paperwork is needed for the student’s portfolio although most of the assessment is through practical observations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a full time post 16 Level 2 programme, Apprentiship or employment.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching
certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
