Level 2 Music BTEC Diploma

This course consists of the following:

• Performance work (gigs, etc.)
• Music technology
• Songwriting
• Ear training
• The music business
• Music history

Students must have ONE of the following:

• 4 GCSEs at grades (3 at grades A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E), including English & Maths
• Level 1 Creative & Media Diploma or Introductory Music Level 1 at merit, plus GCSE English and Maths (1 at grade A*-D and 1 at grade A*-E)
• Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English

You will need to have some ability to understand music theory at ABRSM grade 1 standard. This will be assessed at interview. You will need to demonstrate some practical ability as a singer or musician at the interview.
