What You Will Study

The course consists of a mixture of hands-on practical sessions and theory and will cover a number of units including:

  • Developing performance
  • Establishing plants
  • Lawn maintenance
  • Plant propagation
  • Safe working practices
  • Construction of surfaces
  • Developing gardening skills

Functional Skills

You will also work towards nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications (English, Maths and ICT).

What Next?

Successful students may continue on to a Level 2 programme, such as the Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture. Alternatively you may wish to work towards a work-based learning qualification or an Apprenticeship. Students may also wish to gain employment in gardening.
