Horticulture Level 1 Foundation Pathway

This course is for those that want to explore a career in any area of horticulture including gardening. Starting at Entry 3 Level you will have a high level of support with English, Maths and personal development.

You will develop gardening skills by working on your own individual garden plot, within the college garden and at many community and public gardens around the Reading area. You will explore a broad range of plants including growing flowers, vegetables and herbs from seed, the maintenance of shrubs and trees, taking cuttings and looking after gardens through the seasons.

You do not need qualification to join this pathway.

On successful completion you can move on to the Level 1 Horticulture pathway.
