This introductory full-time programme is designed to engage learners in three di erent subject areas that are all interlinked, provide learners with knowledge, understanding and both the academic and practical skills to develop into their chosen career pathway either through a Level 2 academic qualification or apprenticeship or straight into employment.

Entry Requirements

Although qualifications are not required, you will be assessed to ensure you have an interest in the course and a willingness to learn. Entry will be agreed through an interview process.

What You Will Study

The core focus is on Sport and Active Leisure, Outdoor Adventure and Public Services. This course is delivered in both practical and theory sessions with a practical skills development day each week.

Functional Skills

You will also work towards nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications (English, Maths and ICT) along with other associated National governing body awards such as First Aid.

What Next?

Students may progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Sport, Level 2 Diploma in Outdoor Adventure, or Level 2 Diploma in Public Services. Those who have achieved outstanding effort may progress on to the Instructor Training course or access employment as an Assistant Instructor in outdoor activity centres or a sports centre.
