Description
This is a full time course preparing students for entry into higher education. Students will study a range of computing modules to develop academic knowledge and complete a study skills programme to make them effective learners. Students will also complete Level 2 English and Mathematics modules unless they have already achieved an equivalent acceptable Level 2 English or Mathematics qualification. Each unit is delivered at Level 2 or Level 3 and valued at 3 or 6 credits depending on the amount of work covered in the module. Students must successfully complete a minimum of 15 Level 2 credits and 45 Level 3 credits to achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements
All applicants will be invited for interview with a member of the course team and complete a written comprehension exercise on a relevant topic. An online assessment test will also be completed to show a minimum level of competence at Level 2 in English and Mathematics. All applicants must demonstrate significant life experience so that they can benefit from this intensive one year course.
Delivery & Assessment methods
The modules will be delivered through lectures and practical workshop activities. Assessment will be by assignment and/or examination depending on the module studied.
Progression
Successful students can progress onto higher education courses provided they meet the entry requirements including Degrees, Foundation Degrees, Higher National Diplomas and Certificates.
