Summary:
A Pre-Entry / Entry level course for people with severe learning diffiulcties and/or disabilites. We offer a one to two year course, which runs for 3 days per week, which is a beginning point for those learners leaving school and venturing into further education. Learners will be well supported and encouraged to gain independence in a safe and stimulating environment.
Minimum Age: 16 Start Date: 03/09/2012 End Date: 05/07/2013 Course Length: Up to two years Entry Requirements:There are no formal Entry Requirements for this course.

Academic Progression:Learners can progress onto our Intermediate courses within The School of Foundation Studies.
Learners are encouraged to have a progression route that they are working towards. Our aim is to help learners idenitfy what their strengths, weaknesses and interests are and prepare them for life after college. There are different routes that learners can take from Progressions learners have the option to progress through the Flexi Programme, generally over a three year period. As students progress through college they start working more towards employability skills and may progress onto an Enterprise course.
Full Description:The course offers an introduction to further education and college life for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
The aim of the course is to build confidence and encourage independant behaviour in a new environment. This will be achieved through a range of activities that focus on developing communication and social skills both in college and in the wider community.
During the year students will be provided wtih opportunities to explore possibilities for progression onto other courses within the programme area.
High quality teaching and support will ensure that individual interests and needs are catered for and students will be encouraged to involve themselves in decision making that will shape the design and development of the curriculum.
Course fee: There is no course fee Costs:From time to time we may ask for a contribution towards the cost of some activities.
