In 2012-13, Year 12 and 13 students will attend the College on Monday or Tuesday from 9.15am-4.50pm.
Course DescriptionThe aim is to meet the needs of learners who wish to work and develop a career within the sport and active leisure sector. The level 2/3 will give learners a solid foundation in the sector, enabling them to develop essential skills required for gaining employment, securing career progression, or progressing to further qualifications and training required to achieve their career aspirations.

- Fitness Testing
- Physical Education and the Care of Children and Young People
- Technical and Tactical Skills in Sport
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions as well as independent research.
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional
qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.

Assessment strategies will consist of written evidence, research, reports, practical assessments and presentations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a Higher Education programme or employment.
The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma earns UCAS Tariff points which combined with A levels can gain entrance into University.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
