The Level 3 2D CAD course is designed for those with some experience and knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using AutoCAD software.

This course is designed for you to gain further knowledge of AutoCAD software to gain a City & Guilds Level 3 Award.

You will complete practical assessments in CAD to gain an understanding of the functions of the software and gain an understanding of the functions and operations of the computer system related to CAD.

You will complete a number of exercises using the software which will enable you to complete two timed drawing assignments as set by City & Guilds.

You will also complete a written examination which is taken online.

How long is the course?

The course lasts for one year (totals 70 hours) based on an attendance of one evening a week from September to June.

How will I be assessed?

Two timed drawing assignments based on time and accuracy which are assessed internally.

The written examination is a multiple choice examination which is taken online and is externally marked.

What does the course lead to?

This course will develop your knowledge of the features of AutoCAD and could lead to enhanced career opportunities.

Entry requirements

City & Guilds 7579 CAD Award-Level 2 2D with an understanding of computers and numeracy also being beneficial.
