Computer Aided Design Parametric Modelling (Inventor) Award Level 3 City & Guilds Course Details The use of computer aid design (CAD) systems in industry has become an essential part of the modern working environment. It is used at all stages of the design period, from conceptualisation and production of working drawings to the production of virtual reality images. This unit aims to further candidates understanding of the CAD Parametric Modelling environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings. It will explore the typical composition of a CAD Parametric Modelling system and Health and Safety matters that are associated with safe working practices. There arefourlearning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to: Apply advanced features and parts modelling. Apply advanced assembly modelling. Link with external spreadsheets to create complex table driven parts and assemblies. Apply advanced presentation graphics. Entry Requirements Level 2 Parametric Modelling using Inventor or similar, or a minimum of 3 years industrial experience using Inventor software relative engineering background. Assessment This unit will be assessed by: Two assignments covering practical skills. One GOLA on-line test covering underpinning knowledge. Learning Outcome Students will have the opportunity to sit the assessment tests for this certificate, providing they reach the required level of proficiency.
