Hairdressing NVQ Level 2

A programme of study designed to provide you with the necessary skills to work in the hairdressing industry.

Description

There are several programmes available to choose from. This course requires full-time study and is available for mature learners with starts in September, January and Easter.

You will be taught how to do the following:

Shampoo and condition hair
Cutting style
Dress and finish hair
Perm and neutralise hair
Change hair colour

Underpinning knowledge on health and safety, client care and retail also forms part of the course.

How long is the course?

36-38 weeks

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is ongoing and consists of practical observations, oral questioning, projects, assignments, written tests and portfolio work.

What else can I do?

Short courses in barbering and colour, or any short beauty courses to develop your employability.

What does the course lead to?

Upon completion you could progress to the NVQ Level 3 in Hairdressing.

Level 3 Hairdressing.

Entry requirements

Education to GCSE standard is required plus a general interest in people and the profession. Good communication skills are also essential. You will be required to undergo and interview prior to acceptance.
