Decorative Occupations Diploma Level 3

This advanced course is designed to prepare you for a career in the decorating industry by instilling the job knowledge and practical skills required for this sector.

How long is the course?

35 weeks.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is continual throughout the life of the course. You will also complete an external test as part of your overall assessment.

What will I study?

You will study a range of modules that include the following:

- Building materials
- Preparing surfaces
- Applying hangings to walls and ceilings
- producing specialist decorative finishes
- Applying paint systems using airless equipment
- Applying paint materials by brush and roller

You will also be required to undertake Functional Skills in Maths and English.

What does the course lead to?

On completion of the award the applicant may change the award to the equivalent NVQ level 3 with work based evidence. You may progress to the AVCE (Advanced Vocational Certificate in Education) Built Environment.

Entry requirements

Ideally you should have completed the Level 2 Diploma or an NVQ Level 2.
