Who is this course for? This course is aimed at those who want to gain counselling skills for use in everyday life or to enhance skills they use in the workplace. How will I be assessed ? The way that you will be assessed is by completing a portfolio and an exam The three methods of internal assessment used throughout the training are review of documents, assessed observation and testimony. Formal assessment will consist of: * A course journal. This will enable you to carry your learning beyond the classroom. It will help you to develop your self-awareness in relation yourself and others. * A practical assessment consisting of role play and group discussion. * External assessment based on watching a counselling DVD and exam paper. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course you will achieve Counselling Skills CPCAB Certificate Level 2 What can the course lead to ? After completion of this programme you could progress on to a level 3 counselling qualification. How do I join the course ? Complete an application form, attend an interview and complete a literacy assessment within the college. Will I need an interview ? Yes. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Students will be expected to pay for text books and stationery
