An initial first step into more formal counsellor practitioner training - designed to provide a snapshot into using helping skills.

The programme looks at initial helping skills, active listening skills and body language, and establishes the role of the helper and helping interactions.

How long is the course?

10 weeks.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through your Candidate Learning Record, tutor assessment and an external assessment paper.
Attendance is a minimum 80% with an external assessment at the end of the programme. CPCAB are currently the only awarding body which offers this progression route which is run by counsellors, for counsellors.

ICSK-L2 Initial Counselling Skills is the first qualification in the progression pathway of counsellor training. Completion of this course can lead to:

CSK-L2 Level 2 Skills Programme leading to...
