For those wishing to learn about assessment but are not currently in an assessment role.

What Will I Learn

You will develop skills and knowledge about the assessment process and relate these to your specialism in turn helping to improve levels of quality.

How Will I Be Assessed?

Completion of a portfolio of evidence which includes written reports.

Entry Requirements

You will already hold a qualification in the subject you will assess. For the Certificate you must also be assessing students.

Entry Requirements

You will already hold a qualification in the subject you will assess. For the Certificate you must also be assessing students.

Additional Information

You do not need to have candidates in order to do the award. It is expected that you will complete your portfolio in 12 weeks with attendance at 4 workshops and a number of 1 to1 tutorials.

Progression

Following 1 years’ experience as an assessor you may wish to continue onto the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. Alternatively trainers or those interested in teaching may choose the BTEC

Career Opportunities

Work as an assessor at an approved centre or progress into training and development.
