For some having the role of a manager may make the idea of being a coach to a member of their staff or team and uncomfortable proposition. For some circumstances it may actually be an inappropriate course of action due to the nature of the issue that an individual requires development or support with.
However, a manager may make use of coaching skills and techniques to encourage, engage and develop staff and team members to make the necessary changes in behaviour or working practice to move the individual and the organisation forward.
In many institutions and organisations that wish to encourage a coaching culture it is necessary to equip managers with coaching skills so that performance reviews can be more effective and staff can have access to and receive developmental feedback and guidance in a less formal setting.
In our Coaching Skills for Managers workshop we provide managers and individuals with the basic skills they need to be effective coaches in their organisations.
Looking at the skills and qualities that make for an effective coach as well as a variety of tools and techniques to enhance the coaching experience, we take a practical approach to the learning ensuring that participants don’t just get the theory; they have a chance to put it in to practice in a safe environment.
