ModulesThis programme is provided via two pathways, a full time two year Masters degree programme and a Pg Dip for 18 months. Students must be aware that they will be required to study through the summer holiday period. The term Employment Route Student denotes that you are sponsored by an employer and a proportion of your time, including elements of practice placement time, will be spent within your employing agency. As an Employment Route Student you will be subject to selection procedures set up by your employer as well as those administered by the Social Work course, as part of the Faculty of Health, Wellbeing and Sport. There is a person specification that is a guide to assessing suitability of potential social work students during the interview process.
All programme assessment within modules and practice placement are the same as for any other student on the programme. The placement allocation is made collaboratively with the University course team and your employer in order to ensure you have the maximum opportunity for meeting the assessed practice placement requirements for practice with at least two client groups (e.g. childcare and mental health). More information will be available when the placements are being arranged but discussion will include your employer and the Placement Manager.
