What can this course lead to?

This module provides an ideal opportunity for individuals thinking of pursuing post graduate study in clinical or forensic psychology but who are not ready to commit to the full costs of an MSc/PhD programme. It provides an opportunity to achieve 20 level M credits via a part time route and potentially to use these credits against a full MSc programme.

Resources and facilities

The module will be delivered through FDL (university intranet) and through face to face tutorials, lectures and workshops. The face to face sessions will be held at the Fusehill Street campus.

Entry requirements

1st or 2nd class honours degree

Students with other qualifications may be admitted to the course via APL procedures

Selection criteria

Online application. Where a candidate fails to meet the entry requirement, interviews will be held where equivalence will be discussed. This may take the form of an assessed essay or the applicant's provision of evidence that they are in a position to benefit from study at postgraduate level.

Course summary

The main aim of this module is to encourage students to develop a critical approach to a range of assessment tools and intervention programmes used by psychologists in a range of forensic settings. Students will be expected to show mastery in their ability to analyse, critically review and synthesise literature pertaining to a number of psychological interventions and assessments.
