You are likely to be involved, or set to be involved, in the management of education. Educational management is increasingly concerned with quality management and accountability. By taking this course you will have the opportunity to: critically analyse theoretical models of staff development and staff appraisal; review practice in industry and education; develop an informed awareness of the principles and practice of staff development and appraisal and their relationship to individual and institutional development.

The course uses interactive learning methods and draws upon the
experiences of the group. You will develop critical analysis skills
and will review academic papers and present your views to the
group. You will also be asked to contribute materials and ideas
from your own institution for discussion.
On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a
certificate of credit for 20 credits at Level HE7. In addition, you
may use these credits towards one of the Masters in Education
degrees offered by the University of Bolton.
