Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) [Level 4]
This introduction to teaching provides a good basis of information about the teaching role. It is suitable for a wide range of professionals working with young people and adults in a teaching role and should be completed within the first year of employment in a teaching post. The course is also suitable for anyone thinking about going into a teaching career.
This City and Guilds accredited Award comprises of four units, all delivered at level 4 and has a value of 12 credits. It is necessary to complete the PTLLS first before progressing on to other teacher training qualifications.

Interview required
You will need to produce evidence of the
following:
- Level two qualification in maths and English
- Level three qualification in your subject area (or substantial
experience)
Assessment:
There are three written tasks based on the teaching role which are completed in your own time during the course. There is also a practical assessed task where you demonstrate your teaching skills to a peer group. Support with this is ongoing throughout the programme.
