Level 3 & 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Award (PTLLS) OCR
PTLLS is an introduction to teaching course and on completion of the course students will acquire a threshold licence to teach adults. This is generally suitable for those teaching non-accredited/certified qualifications, or from home. It is a stepping stone to teaching as there are no teaching hours required for this course.

The award is designed to enable students to:
- Adopt an integrative approach to the theory and practice of teaching
- Reflect on their own previous/current levels of experience, practice & skills and areas for development
- Identify principles of learning, teaching, assessment & evaluation
- Develop an awareness of their professional role
All students must be aged 19+ and have the following:
- Level 2 qualification in English – GCSE (A-C) or equivalent. Students must be able to provide evidence of this prior to being offered a place on the course
- An interest in teaching adults
