- Industrial experience
- Develop performance in land-based industries
- Tractor driving
- Exterior plant establishment and maintenance
- Construction of surfaces and structures
- Handling and storage of tools and materials
You will also take functional skills and there will be the opportunity to undertake additional qualifications.

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
Normally 4 GCSEs at grade F or above (to
include English and mathematics).
For some students an agreement will be reached to comply with an
academic contract from the start of the course.
Those learners with limited achievement at GCSE or those with
qualifications at entry level may be considered, alternatively a
NVQ level 1 may be more appropriate. Previous experience may also
be taken into account.
Assessment:
Assessment is continuous throughout the programme. Each unit is assessed by a variety of methods, including assignments, practicals, presentations, tests and a portfolio of evidence. You will also need to complete an online test on safe and effective working, which can be achieved at pass, merit or distinction level.
Progression from this course:
Students who successfully complete the programme may progress to further study for a level 2 qualification (dependent on grades achieved) or enter employment.

Course Costs:
All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
