This couse provides the practical skills and knowledge that will help you gain employment in agriculture and the countryside. You will acquire a wide range of knowledge, practical skills and industry experience from both your studies and work experience on a local farm. The course includes husbandry of crops and livestock, estate skills and machinery operation.

Course Content
The course consists of the following units:

3 days per week and undertake work experience within a local farming business two days per week. The course is delivered by lectures, practical instruction, demonstration and visits. Approximately half the time in college involves practical work.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (TBC)
Additional Qualifications
Functional skills in numeracy and literacy will also be developed - the level will depend upon your qualifications at entry. The Level 2 Diploma is the equivalent of 4 GCSEs at Grades A*-C. Additional qualifications include NPTC Certificate of Competence in Tractor Driving and Related Operations, First Aid and Manual Handling.
Entry Requirements
Interest and enthusiasm in farming and the countryside and the ability to cope with written work. English and Maths GCSEs at Grade D.

Level 3 Diploma in Agriculture or Work Based Learning (Apprenticeships).
