If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).
Course Content: The course is combined with CACHE level 2 Certificate in Playwork therefore you will achieve two qualifications. Course Content: The course is combined with CACHE level 2
Certificate in Playwork therefore you will achieve two
qualifications. Combined they include core mandatory units and
optional units including; Introduction to working in the sector,
Play and Child Development, Supporting areas of development,
Positive relationships, Positive development, Health and safety and
Safeguarding. You will achieve a minimum of 300 hours in a
vocational setting. You must pass all units in order to achieve
these qualification’s
You will attend full time and undertake practical work placements
in 2 Early Years settings as part of the course.
Your work will be reviewed on a regular basis through group work
and discussions with your tutor.
The course involves group discussions; project and assignment work
and you will be working closely with other students and the tutor
to complete these activities. You will be assessed both within
college and placement throughout the course using a variety of
these different techniques and more.
Entry Qualification: You should have achieved a Distinction on the
L1 CACHE Foundation Award Caring for Children or L1 BTEC
Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care or have achieved 4
GCSEs grade D (including English Language and Maths). Special
Features: Experience of two child care settings to promote Personal
Development. Guest speakers and educational visits are also part of
the course.
Course Format: Full Time
Progression: Students may progress on to the (CACHE) Level 3
Diploma for the Children and Young People’s workforce (subject to
the interview/reference) or progress into employment within the
following job roles; assistant pre-school workers, assistant in
children’s centre’s or assistant in day nurseries, nursery schools
and nursery classes in primary schools.
