The course

Delivered by industry experts, the Level 2 Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles covers a clear set of units which have been developed to meet the skills needs of the sector. It provides learners with a nationally recognised work-based qualification, allowing them to evidence their expertise, competence and confidence to carry out their duties as a goods vehicle driver in line with expected high standards. The Level 2 Certificate offers three vehicle specific pathways which the learner must choose from:Pathway 2: VanPathway 3: Rigid vehiclePathway 4: Articulated or drawbar vehicleWithin each of these pathways there are a number of optional units, meaning individuals can tailor their learning to best reflect what their day-to-day job involves.Mandatory UnitsPrepare the vehicle for drivingProtect the vehicle and the loadOperate and monitor the vehicle systemsManoeuvre the vehicle in restricted spacesObtain information on the collection and/or delivery of loadOptional Unit Group 1 (learners must complete one of these units)Drive the vehicle on private roads in a safe and fuel efficient mannerDrive the vehicle on public roads in a safe and fuel efficient manner
