Description

This includes all the costs of managing supply including purchasing, expediting, inventory management, delivery and receipt of goods and quality control. Supply chains within and across all other sectors are reliant on the effectiveness of the people who work within them.During your studies on the course, you will gain the knowledge and skills across a range of relevant topics to make you more efficient and knowledgeable about your role. This will give you the confidence and skills to develop as a supply chain manager.
The Sector Skills Council which oversees this apprenticeship is Skills for Logistics.
How long is the course?
Depending on the individual, the course should normally be completed within 18 months.How will I be assessed?
The Edexcel Level 3 Diploma in Supply Chain Management (which forms part of the apprenticeship) comprises of both the taught aspects covering the knowledge and understanding and the competence which is assessed in the workplace.Achievement of the units is by completion of written tasks, projects, reflective statements and evidence of competence in the workplace.
What will I study?
The Advanced Apprenticeship comprises of the following elements:· Edexcel Level 3 Diploma in Supply Chain Management
· Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2
· Employee Rights and Responsibilities
· Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
What does the course lead to?
You will be qualified as a supply chain manager and you will have acquired some significant skills in management.What can I go on to study?
Having qualified at Level 3, you may wish to take your studies to the next level. This can be achieved by taking the professional qualifications with CIPS which can lead to Membership of the Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).Entry requirements
You should have a good educational record at Level 2 including maths and English at GCSE. You should also be employed within a purchasing or supply chain environment.How much does it cost?
If you are aged between 16 and 18 the apprenticeship is free of charge. If you are 19 or over, your employer will need to pay a one-off fee. Please contact us for specific fee information.How do I apply?
