The course
Delivered by our highly qualifi ed, experienced instructors, the Category C course equips learners with the essential skills, knowledge and understanding required to safely, competently and confi dently drive a rigid vehicle. As well as gaining fundamental expertise in the handling of vehicle controls, individuals will be able to demonstrate through their driving that they have a comprehensive awareness of all matters concerning personal and vehicle safety.The course specifi cally covers:An introduction to the vehicleVehicle familiarisationMoving off and stoppingRoad positioningJunctionsRoundaboutsCrossroadsMotorway slip roadsUse of signals Pedestrian crossingsReversingAwareness, anticipation and planningOvertakingProgress/hesitancyMeeting and overtakingIf successful, individuals will attain the Category C entitlement on their licence, ultimately evidencing their ability to consistently drive a rigid vehicle in accordance with DSA standards.

Progression
Category C+E (artic) training.Please note that if an individual passed their Category B test on or after 1st January 2007 and wishes to drive for hire or reward, they must also pass Module 2 (Case Studies) and Module 4 (Vehicle Safety Demonstration). On completion of these, along with Module 1 (Theory Test – Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception) and Module 3 (Practical Test of Driving Ability), individuals will achieve the initial Driver Certifi cate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualifi cation.#*
