The Programme
This course is designed for practising electricians who are
applying to become Qualifying Managers or seeking to be added to
the role of National Inspection Council for Electrical
Installations (NICEIC) or equivalent organisations. This
qualification is NOT AIMED at inexperienced candidates.
Covering all inspection, testing and certification of existing
electrical installations.
This course prepares candidates for the periodic inspection of
electrical installation work; aimed at experienced electricians who
wish to gain further knowledge and skills in the inspection,
testing and certification of electrical installations.
It is not aimed at people with limited electrical qualifications or
experience of inspection and testing and candidates should have
knowledge of the current edition of the IET wiring regulations ie
17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Theory Overview:
Completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and
installations
Inspecting, testing and recording the condition of existing
electrical installations
Safe testing of electrical installations which have been placed in
service
Testing circuits which have been placed in service and may require
isolation
Testing energised installations
Interpreting test results
The 2395 will be assessed by one practical assessment (set by City
& Guilds, marked by the centre), one online exam, and one dated
entry question paper, which will be available on a set number of
dates throughout the year and marked by City & Guilds.
Discounts are available for candidates who book the C&G 2395 Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification at the same time as C&G 2394 Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installation. Please enquire for details.
Suitable for students aged 16 and over. Please ring to enquire about any exceptions.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements set by the awarding body, however the course programme is aimed at qualified electricians who have a basic knowledge of electrical installations, BS7671 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) and inspection and testing. The programme is not designed for candidates with no previous electrical knowledge, these candidates should consider 2392-10 level 2 course first, or gain some practical experience.

Candidates can combine this qualification with the C&G Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations that covers new installation and the use of Electrical Installation Certificates.
