Who is this course for?

Is this course for me? For either course, you need to be working within a hospitality environment and you will choose a 'pathway' option that is most closely connected to your work, from: Level 2
  • Hospitality Services - suitable for Team Members (hospitality)
  • Front of House Reception – Receptionist
  • Housekeeping - Housekeeper, Room Attendant (housekeeping), Chamber Maid.

What will I do on the course?

In both levels of Apprenticeship, you will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) modules from the options in your chosen pathway. At Level 2 - alongside food hygiene, customer service and team working skills you will develop your chosen skills in either housekeeping, kitchen, reception or restaurants. Alongside both levels of work, you will also complete modules on Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Functional Skills English and Mathematics.

What qualifications do I need?

Level 2 - there are no formal What qualifications do I need?; however you should have a keen interest in developing a career in hospitality and have a good level of communication skills.

When does the course start?

September 2013, however flexible start times may also be available.

Where is it held?

As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in a hospitality environment and be visited regularly in the workplace by your trainer/assessor for practical assessments. Some learning and activities may be completed through our dedicated online portals.

How long does the course last?

For both levels, usual duration is 12-15 months for each course.

What does it cost?

The course is fully funded for those individuals who meet the Apprenticeship funding requirements. For those who do not meet these requirements, individual prices can be provided on request.

What could I do after completing the course?

Further Education:
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • Level 4 Apprenticeship.
Employment:
  • Restaurant Manager
  • Head Housekeeper
  • Bar Manager.
