Routes to College - Personal Social Development
This programme is for learners who have completed Entry Level 1 qualifications and wish to progress on to vocational training.
What will I do on the course?
Learners will develop an understanding of working life through a series of vocational modules and develop their personal life skills together with reading, writing and ICT. Vocational modules may include:- Health and safety
- Personal presentation
- DIY
- Cookery
- Media Skills
- Animal Care
- Horticulture
- Performing arts
- Travel & Tourism
- Health & Social Care
- Retail.

On successful completion of Routes to College, learners can progress onto a number of vocational areas where they will work towards Entry 3 qualifications in a specific vocational area. These include:- Routes to Animal Care
- Routes to Horticulture
- Routes to Health & Social Care
- Routes to Catering & Hospitality
- Routes to Hair & Beauty
- Routes to Construction
- Routes to Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
Are there any additional costs?
Learners may be required to purchase minor items of personal equipment during the course. In addition there may be extra-curricular trips which have an additional cost, but these are not compulsory for completion of the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview.
