Who is this course for?

The qualifications are aimed at those who are interested in pursuing a career in assessing or those who undertake assessments as part of their current job role.

What will I do on the course?

The course will cover all of the underpinning knowledge related to the assessor qualifications. This includes principles and practices of assessment, key roles and responsibilities of assessors, the assessment process, planning and conducting assessment activities and providing feedback and record keeping. For those in an assessor role and completing practical units this will be supported by 1:1 sessions to develop and assess practiacl assessment skills.

What qualifications do I need?

To access the practical units you will need to be in an assessor and competent/experienced in the sector you will be assessing.

What could I do after completing the course?

Depending on the qualification route taken the course may provide the opportunity to pursue a career in work based assessment, to progress to the internal quality assurance award or initial teaching qualifications (PTLLS).

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence. Assessment will be by a number of methods including written statements, professional discussion and observation.
